Research publishing and Open Access

- the practical side of publishing

Everyone can write an article – getting it published in the “right” journal and navigating the requirements of publishers, funders, and DTU, is another matter. DTU Library can help you make sense of it all.

Publishing research involves much more than doing the research and writing the papers. Both early-career and experienced researchers can become overwhelmed by the many subtle challenges involved in publishing - from journal selection to copyright considerations and Open Access requirements.

Book a tailored presentation or workshop. Our sessions will provide hands-on support and will allow researchers to reflect upon individual as well as departmental publication strategies and scholarly communication practices.

The training is ideal for PhD seminars and faculty meetings with a practical focus.

We typically cover topics such as:

  • Finding suitable, quality journals
  • Steering clear of predatory publishers
  • Making your research visible in DTU Orbit
  • Making your publications Open Access
  • PhD theses (ISBNs, DOIs, copyright, Open Access and “prior publication” issues)
  • Various publication statistics such Research Analytics Platform (for departmental evaluations) and Research Output Statistics (for DTU’s Strategic Plan).
