Datasets and DTU Orbit

- import metadata about data sets

If you have published research data in a repository such as DTU Data, you can import metadata about the dataset to DTU Orbit. Your published research data will thus be visible on your DTU Orbit profile and can be linked to projects and publications in DTU Orbit. Datasets in DTU Orbit contain metadata about the dataset and a link to the repository where the dataset is published. This procedure can also be used for published software code.

Note that the dataset itself is not uploaded to DTU Orbit; it is the metadata, incl. link to dataset location being uploaded.

Add metadata about research dataset to your profile in DTU Orbit:

  • ,Go to DTU Orbit, orbit.dtu.dk
  • Select “Login to DTU Orbit” at the bottom to get to your DTU Orbit profile
  • Select "Add Content"
  • Select "’Import from online source" under "Data"
  • The data set is located via the DOI
  • Click "Import" and then "Import and review", check the information i the form and "Save"
  • Remember to link to articles, projects etc. under "Relations to other content"

You may also access your DTU Orbit profile via DTU Findit, select "My output i DTU Orbit" in the dropdown menu under your name in the upper right hand corner.

Software, Media, Online resource ...
DataMonitor only imports certain publication types, such as “Dataset”, “Software”, “Media” and “Figure”. If you have publications that are not found via the DOI search, select “Create from template” and fill in the relevant fields.
