Library card
DTU students and staff use their DTU card for borrowing. Users with no DTU card can use valid ID such as the Danish health insurance card (sundhedskort) or drivers license at Library Service during opening hours.
Lending period
The lending period is 4 weeks for most books/materials; thus, you can normally have a book for 4 weeks. If the material has not been requested by another user the loan is renewed automatically.

Renew loans form DTU Library
Loans are renewed automatically - until another person has made a reservation. Material from foreign libraries can not be renewed.
Delivery
- DTU staff only
DTU staff with an address at a DTU facility can choose to receive books at this address; at Lyngby Campus we use internal DTU mail at no cost, at other DTU locations we use PostNord. DTU staff may use same procedure for returning books.
Where to find our printed collection
DTU Library's printed materials are located in open and closed stacks. Books in open stacks, both Lyngby and Ballerup, can be picked up by you, and be registered at the self-service terminal. Books from before 1968 and journals from before 2010 are stored in closed stacks. Thus, you can not gain access to these yourself, but must make a reservation via DTU Findit.
