Sensors, cameras, sound and lighting
AirWits sensors
This sensor measures temperature, humidity, and CO2-levels and covers all of DTU Library’s 27 zones from the ground floor to the 2nd floor. The data is collected in DTU Library’s IOT platform and made available as both historic and live data.
Ambinode sensors
Ambinode gathers data about temperature, humidity, and CO2-levels. Furthermore, it measures the level of 2.5 and 10 microns particles in the air. Ambinode sensor are installed in all of DTU Library’s 27 zones. The data is collected in DTU Library’s IOT platform and made available as both historic and live data.
Axis cameras
Axis cameras, in our main entrance and by all other entrances to the library, continuously count the number of visitors in DTU Library. This is done by constantly monitoring the number of people either entering or leaving the library though the areas covered by the cameras. The data is collected in DTU Library’s IOT platform and made available as both historic and live data.
Røde microphones
We have put up microphones in all of DTU Library’s 27 zones from the ground floor to the 2nd floor. These microphones do not record or file the actual sounds, but instead they register and file the sound-levels in the respective zones. The data is collected in DTU Library’s IOT platform and made available as both historic and live data.
Desk occupancy sensors
This sensor type registers whether the individual tables located in the reading area on the 2nd floor are free or occupied. The data is collected in DTU Library’s IOT platform and made available as both historic and live data.
LED lights
The old lighting in the library was suited for seeking out books on shelves. Years back the books were placed in the basement which than created the need for a new lighting that could support the new use of the library as a place for studying, learning, relaxaing, meetings, etc.
LED iBonds lighting
LED iBonds lighting solution gives our students better lighting in terms of supporting the activities in the library hall today. It is more flexible in relation to the changing light conditions of the seasons and the time of day. Additionally, in five specific zones, the users themselves can adjust the light so that brightness and color scheme match the needs of those working in the zone. One of these dedicated zones is located on the ground floor to the right of the entrance, the other four zones are found on the first floor.
