Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)

- free Open Access publishing in journals from ACM

In 2024, DTU Library has entered a three-year agreement with the publisher Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), dealing with publishing in Open Access – among other things. 

The agreement with ACM covers articles published after 1 January 2024 and articles accepted before 31 December 2026. 

DTU researchers can, as corresponding authors, publish Open Access free of charge in ACM's journals and conference proceedings.

What to do
As a corresponding author, it is important that you, already when submitting your research article, indicate that your article must be published Open Access under the Danish agreement.

To publish under the agreement it is important that you choose DTU as your institutional affiliation and that you use your DTU address when submitting your research article,

  • Use your DTU e-mail as the corresponding author
  • State DTU as your institutional affiliation (Technical University of Denmark)
  • Choose Open Access to publish your article without publication fee, APC.
  • Select a Creative Commons license (CC-BY (default).

Journals included
All ACM peer-reviewed publications - including articles and conference proceedings - are covered by the agreement.

That is:

  • The author does not have to pay article processing charge (APC)
  • The article is published with a CC-BY license *
  • The author retains copyright *
  • The article (Published version) becomes immediately available Open Access
  • The article (Published version) can be archived in DTU Orbit without an embargo period

You can not publish in the following:
Magazines, newsletters, homepages, multimedia files and ACM Books, which are not covered by the agreement.
