If you as a teacher at DTU want your students to improve their information retrieval skills and to become better at assessing the quality of what they find, DTU Library now offers a series of short instruction videos that can be use in your own teaching.
The videos focus on the different aspects of information retrieval: How to define and prepare the search, which search methods to use and how to evaluate the selected information before using it in assignments and report writing.
The videos have been developed by DTU Library in collaboration with Copenhagen University Library. The videos deal with topics such as Generating Search Terms (based on a particular subject/research question), Creating a Mendeley Account (adding citations and reference lists), Setting up a Search Strategy (planning the information search).
If you want to use one or more of the instruction videos in your course, please feel free to contact us at bibliotek@dtu.dk or 4525 7250 (Mon-Fri, 9.00 to 16.00).
If you want to use the videos in a 'flipped classroom' format, we also offer to do presentations that are tailor-made for your course and that address the particular needs of your students.
