How can DTU researchers boost their visibility with Open Access?

One simple answer: Send your post-prints to DTU Orbit

Most publishing houses allow for the author’s final manuscript, also called the post-print, to become available Open Access. At DTU we use our research database DTU Orbit - DTU’s “institutional repository”.

DTU researchers simply have to send their post-prints to DTU Library via orbit@dtu.dk. DTU Library will then register the publication.

Typically, publishers impose embargo-periods of 6-48 months on post-prints. When registering your post-print, DTU Library will make sure that the publication is made Open Access in accordance with the Open Access policies and embargo restrictions of the individual journals.

'A coversheet containing the bibliographic data from the publisher's version of the article is automatically added to all publications in DTU Orbit. This coversheet helps to ensure that your publications are cited correctly.

'What is the author’s final version or the post-print?
"The Author’s final version", also known as the post-print, is a manuscript version of an article. It has been accepted for publication and has undergone peer-review but still lacks formal publisher layout. The intellectual content is identical to the published version. Please note the difference between the author’s final version and the publisher’s version. The latter contains journal layout and logo and may rarely be made available Open Access.
