- get a discount when you need to pay for Open Access publishing
Through DTU Library´s subscription, you can get a discount when you publish Open Access in hybrid ACS journals.
ACS has named their Open Access initiative as ACS AuthorChoice. This initiative provides the opportunity for discounts on APC´s if you are associated with an institution with a subscription or are a researcher that is an ACS member or are becoming a ACS member.
The standard prices for ACS AuthorChoice Open Access publishing can be found at the publishers website: Open Access Prices
When you are filling out the ACS AuthorChoice form, then you need to state your subscribing institution. If you need information concerning subscribing institutions, then you can contact elibrary@dtu.dk
If you as a DTU researcher, have a personal membership to ACS, then this also provides a discount (“Member pricing”).
Learn more about personal memberships
- Use your DTU e-mail as the corresponding author
- State DTU as your institutional affiliation (Technical University of Denmark)
- Select Open Access to publish your article without a publication fee
- Choose a Creative Commons license
If it is possible to choose between different CC-licenses, then you are encouraged to select a CC BY 4.0 license which is the least restrictive license in the CC-portfolio.

Which journals are not available
The “subscribing institution” discount will not be prompted if you are publishing in Gold Open Access journals. Publishing your article Open Access, in these ACS fully Open Access journals will usually lead to a publishing fee (APC).
