Status on Commercial Fusion Energy

How do we bring fusion energy from research to commercial reality?

On Monday, November 24th from 10:00–11:30, DTU welcomes internationally renowned plasma physicist and CTO of Type One Energy, Thomas Sunn Pedersen, who will present the current status of fusion energy development – the day before his keynote at the international conference Fusion – the Path to Abundant and Sustainable Energy, organized by IDA Energy, DANfusion, and BigScience.dk

Thomas Sunn Pedersen has over 30 years of experience in fusion research and a background from MIT, Columbia University, and the Max Planck Institute. Today, he is a technological frontrunner in the development of fusion energy based on the stellarator principle as CTO of Type One Energy – and he originally graduated as a civil engineer from DTU.

Søren Bang Korsholm, Head of DANFusion and Senior Researcher at DTU Physics, will moderate the event and conclude with a brief overview of DTU’s fusion research. There will be 30 minutes allocated for questions and discussion with the audience.

🎓 Meet a Danish pioneer in the fusion field – and gain insight into one of the most promising energy technologies of the future.
