A 90-minute interactive workshop which, covers the following topics:

  • How to select the right journal title for your manuscript
  • Beware of predatory journals
  • Surviving the peer-review process
  • Open Access
  • Raising your profile and the profile of your research
  • You’re published! What next?

The workshop is presented by Alison Hope, Vice-President at Emerald Publishing Group, however the content is publisher-neutral and applicable across all faculties and subject specialisms.

Fakes and phonies in research publication

The business model that has evolved in the wake of the Open Access movement, where authors pay APCs to obtain Open Access for their publications has unfortunately had a grave side effect. A new type of journals have evolved.  We call them predatory journals and we should work for their extinction.
