Full speed on wireless network in the library in Lyngby

- more and stronger access points

The IT service at DTU, AIT, have improved the wireless network in the library in Lyngby. They have installed more, new and stronger access points of the latest and faster AC standard. This should result in triple the speed as the AC technology supports up to 3.5 gigabits per second.

Everyone should now be able to use the 5 GHz frequency band; we previously used the very busy 2.4 GHz band only. And this applies to the wireless network all over the library.

The challenge is that we have many visitors in the library every day, and you all have multiple devices using the wireless network: PC, smartphone, tablet, smart watches, etc., etc. Phones used as access point disturb the DTU Wi-Fi and result in "noise" - we hope that we are now providing enough access points, so you don't need to use your own phones as one.

It is fast - drive carefully!
