Denmark has entered into a national agreement with the publisher Elsevier. The agreement ensures immediate and free access to numerous Danish research publications published by Elsevier where a Danish researcher is the corresponding author; the agreement also ensures publication without additional payment in a large number of Elsevier's hybrid journals as well as access to an unchanged Elsevier portfolio. The agreement with Elsevier runs for the next four years, 2021-24.
Access to Elsevier literature
This means that DTU Library can continue to make the relevant resources from Elsevier available via our online library, DTU Findit.
Open Access publishing
The agreement also provides new, improved opportunities when DTU's researchers publish in Elsevier journals. As a corresponding author, you can now publish Open Access for free in a number of Elsevier's hybrid journals that were previously subject to embargo periods and/or payment (APC). As regards Elsevier's golden journals, you still need to pay APCs to publish. Please learn more on DTU Inside (DTU-login).
This means that there will be immediate Open Access to the publisher version of numerous Danish Elsevier publications (CC-BY license). In this way, it is possible for researchers to meet Open Access requirements from founders and grants, and it becomes easier to reach the national Open Access goals.
