The Open Science tool of DTU Library helps DTU researchers t to make their research more open. The tool provides both an overview and links to further information.
The tool looks at the different phases of a research project: planning, execution and publication. You can sort the information according to whether your focus is on publications or on research data.
We hope you will enjoy the tool and as always, we welcome your feedback.

What is meant by Open Science
Behind the concept of Open Science lies the vision that research, i.e. research data, research publications and other forms of research dissemination should, as far as possible, be made freely available. The mission is to get better circulation of knowledge so that the research and its results are distributed widely and will benefit the research community and society as a whole.
Open Science is supported by digital technology, "big data" and globalization of research.
Open Science includes a number of well-known elements:
- Open Access to research publications.
- Open Access to reserch data.
- Open Source software.
- Citizen Science - with citizen participation.
DTU Library & Open Science
DTU Library supports Open Science at DTU on several fronts. Every day, we work to make research publications and research data from DTU Open Access. Open Source software developed at DTU can be archived in our systems and we support Citizen Science when it makes sense.
We manage and develop a number of digital platforms supporting Open Science.
- DTU Findit - findit.dtu.dk
DTU Findit provides access to scientific literature - and links DTU publications and DTU research data.
- DTU Orbit - orbit.dtu.dk
DTU Orbit is DTU official institutional repository. DTU's research publications and projects are registered here and post-prints of the articles are made available here – the green way to Open Access.
- DTU Data - data.dtu.dk
In DTU Data, DTU's research data and data sets are registered and stored to make them globally available. DTU Data supports the implementation of the FAIR principles for research data: Findable, Accessible Interoperability, Reusable.
