DTU policy on publication
The DTU policy on publication (in preparation) includes scientific publications with DTU employess as authors. Scientific publications typically covers articles, conference contributions and book chapters that are submitted to peer-review.

Base points in the policy on publication:

  • Quality/acknowledgement - DTU publish research of the highest quality, and the results are published in the most acknowledged channels of publication within the relevant subject areas.
  • Accesibility/visibility - DTU want outmost access, use and utilisation of scientific results, making the research of DTU a benefit to society. Accesibility and visibility are best achieved by Open Access.

DTU and Open Access
DTU recommends publication in Open Access journals. The aim of Open Access is to give direct, online and free access to research results without any restrictions.

Assign a DOI
A DOI, Digital Object Identifier, can be assigned to research data, results or publications as an unique identifier for these data. A DOI makes your research easy to find and to cite for other researchers throughout the world.

Most publishers are assigning DOIs to scientific publications, but DOIs can also be assigned to data sets via the DataCite system. The Danish secretariat for DataCite is hosted at DTU Library, and we have the authorisation to assign DOIs.

We have prepared a set of mandatory metadata in oder to assign DOIs for DTU research.
