LED Lunch Talk: Properties of LED - for museum lighting applications

Abstract:

Solid State Lighting (SSL) i.e. LED based lighting is a “new” lighting technology that offer many advantages for museum lighting. This talk will cover energy efficiency of LED packages and SSL products, as well as light quality considering color temperature and color rendering. Experimental results on long term stability of LED products will be presented looking at luminous flux and color over 25.000 hours. These are research results from DTU Fotoniks state-of-the-art test and characterization facility for SSL lighting.
